Challenge for Shelter

 

In July 2017, a group of 82 Royal LePage agents and broker/owners from across Canada along with Royal LePage President, Phil Soper, and Royal LePage Shelter Foundation staff, Shanan Spencer-Brown and Carly Neill, traveled across the North Atlantic Ocean to take part in the Iceland Challenge for Shelter!

Machu Pichu Challenge

Did you know that every night in Canada more than 3,000 women and their 2,500 children stay in a shelter to escape domestic violence? In many cases, these women are literally running for their lives and demonstrating incredible bravery. In August, 2015 I completed the trek to the lost city of Machu Pichhu in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and raising funds to help these women and children. For 8 days, my friends and colleagues from Royal LePage offices across Canada trekked at high altitude, slept in tents, and went without running water, electricity and cell service. To be eligible to participate, we were required raise at least $5,000 for our local women's shelter! I prepared physically and mentally for the challenge for months. Each dollar we raised and every step we took made it easier for women and children to walk safely away from violence.
